Elvet Role: NEC3 Site Supervisor (Clerk of Works)

Elvet Chartered Surveyors were successfully appointed as the NEC Site Supervisor by the Centre for Process Innovation Ltd. (CPI) to help deliver a £5m, National Centre for Healthcare Photonics (NCHP) Design & Build Project.

The new facility boasts a gross internal floor area 2000m2 and comprising of a manufacturing area with controlled access, temperature and humidity control, flexible optic laboratories with re-configurable light tight cubicles, laser safe rooms for the testing and development of optical systems, a suite of life science laboratories for the preparation and analysis of human tissue and blood for research; electronics development laboratory; workshop with facilities for rapid prototyping; an x-ray test and development lab, with lead shielding; and finally a modelling and design laboratory with shared access to 3D CAD and image analysis software.

This scheme demanded an extremely high and uncompromising level of quality and accuracy, which we were able to achieve through our pragmatic approach and enforcement of meticulous standards throughout the delivery of the project.
